3. I don't care about what you did on your family vacation or Jiggles the cat. 

Okay, this is over-stated, but too often I recieve newsletters from missionaries who go into itimate detail about personal family issues. Perhaps a donor once told them they "just love family news." But most partners give to see you advance the ministry God has called you to.

I know you take vacations and I am glad to help pay for them. Even though that vacation my be the best thing that happened to you all year I still want to hear about changed lives or the challenge of why they can't be changed! Major on that!

And besides, not everyone loves cats.
